WHO: The World Is In A New Dangerous Stage
Jun 16, 2020
The Director General of the World Health Organization Tan Desai said at a regular press conference on June 19 that the previous day countries reported more than 150,000 confirmed cases to WHO, which was the most reported day since the outbreak. About half of the new cases come from the Americas region, and South Asia and the Middle East are also regions with more new cases. Tan Desai said that the new coronavirus spreads rapidly and threatens lives, and the world is still in a new "dangerous stage". Countries should continue to adopt basic prevention and control measures such as maintaining social distance, detecting, isolating, and treating confirmed cases, and tracking close contacts, especially focusing on vulnerable groups such as refugees.
