What is metal machining ?

Metal machining is the process of changing the dimensions or properties of a workpiece by means of a mechanical device. The differences in machining methods can be divided into cutting and pressure machining.

Design principles:
(1) The process procedures designed should ensure the quality of the machining of machine parts (or the quality of the assembly of the machine) and meet the various technical requirements specified on the design drawings.
(2) Should make the process have high productivity, so that the product is put on the market as soon as possible.
(3) Seek to reduce manufacturing costs
(4) Pay attention to reduce the labour intensity of workers and ensure production safety.

(2) Quality standards for product acceptance.
(3) The annual production schedule of the product.
(4)The production conditions of the manufacturing plant, including the specifications, performance and existing state of the machine tool equipment and process equipment, the technical level of workers, the ability of the factory to produce its own process equipment and the ability of the factory to supply electricity and gas, and other relevant information.
(5) Design manuals and relevant standards required for the design of process protocols and process equipment.
(6) Information on advanced manufacturing technology at home and abroad, etc.
Step content:
(1)Analyse and study the assembly diagram and parts diagram of the product.
(2) Determine the blank.
(3) Draw up the process route and select the positioning base surface.
(4) Determine the equipment to be used for each process.
(5) Determine the tools, fixtures, gauges and auxiliary tools to be used for each process.
(6) Determine the technical requirements and inspection methods for each major process.
(7) Determine the machining allowances for each process and calculate process dimensions and tolerances.
(8) Determine the cutting dosage.
(9) Determine the working hours quota.
